“Digital Scripts” with artist Hannah Newman will uncover thoughts about what it means to be a practicing artist today and talk through the value of different types of production. We will also discuss the artist's work which explores the aesthetic possibilities of social media and digital platforms as new vehicles for carrying language, metaphor, and nuance.
Hannah Newman has shown at CICA Museum in South Korea and recently has had a solo show at Tropical Contemporary in Eugene, OR. Her work has received press from Chicago’s New City Art blog, and the Boston Globe. Newman received a Master of Fine Arts from Oregon College of Art and Craft and a B.S in Ceramics and Fine Arts with a minor in Art History from Indiana Wesleyan University.
